AGT Volunteer Opportunities

AGT has volunteer options open to regular, student, emeritus, and collaborative members. Various options depending on your level of commitment and availability.

ALL IN: Fill out the volunteer interest form and submit your CV to serve on an AGT standing committee for Membership, Public Relations, Annual Meeting, or Education.Let us know which area you are most interested in. Committee volunteers will report directly to the Committee Director and lead volunteer activities of their selection.

    Membership

    • This committee is responsible for promoting AGT membership and its benefits to current members and potential members. This committee is focused on strategies to recruit and retain members in the Association by forming outreach networks, social media campaigns, and promotional brochures, flyers, and additional content for distribution.

    Public Relations

    • This committee's primary goal is to disseminate information related to AGT events and activities, including educational events, social activities, outreach efforts, and government affairs initises. This committee creates and maintains event calendars and generates content for social media and email distribution. 

    Annual Meeting

    • This committee is focused on activities related to the Joint Annual Meeting (AGT), including recruiting session speakers, reviewing poster abstracts, judging posters, scheduling pre-conference workshops, planning AGT attendee activities at JAM. 

    Education

    • This committee's main purpose is to plan educational events and continuing educational (CE) opportunities for its members and the genetic and genomic community. This group proposes workshop and webinar speakers and topics throughout the year, assists with scheduling events, and maintains self-study opportunities.
